If you would like one-on-one or small group training on any subject, please complete the REQUEST A TRAINING form. Training can be scheduled throughout the school day or before or after school (availability varies). Any small group or one on one training off contract hours, can count towards FlexPD. Please see calendar below for times before requesting.
All Saturday sessions will be held at the KJH Library and are three hours long.

App Task Challenges--Building Your Toolbox
Learn by playing first! Each participant will be introduced to 4 different tech tools that have multiple applications in the classroom. An App Challenge card will be given to allow you to explore first. Teachers will then begin to create products for their classroom with more advanced instruction.
The four apps to be explored are:
Google Keep (Organization/Notes), Vizia (Interactive Video), Google Drawings (Design & Interactive Assignments), GeoGuessr/Google Maps (Critical Thinking/Geography/Reasoning & Virtual Field Trips)

Digital Make and Take
A variety of digital templates will be available to help teachers start building activities for students. A great class to take for building resources for the 18-19 school year. Templates will include games, portfolios, hyperdocs, interactive notebooks and goal setting.

Gmail Basics--Transitioning from Outlook
As we move away from Outlook and on to Gmail, check out the benefits of fully working in a G-Suite environment.

Using Twitter in Education
How to use Twitter to teach, learn and connect with others. We will discuss how to get started, how to share safely and how to build an audience.

Organizing Your Drive
Having students create interactive notebooks is a great way to organize and synthesis new material. Learning just a few way to get started with change how your students take notes and show off their learning!

ONLINE BOOK STUDIES
Book studies will take place through Google Classroom. Once we have at least 3 interested participants, these will be opened up and posted on MLP. Each book study lasts 4 weeks.

TEACHING & LEARNING COHORTS
Once we have at least 3 interested participants, these will be opened up and posted on MLP. Each Cohort will meet 2 times, once at the beginning and once at the end (1 hour each). Two hours will be spent with an instructional coach off contract hours and two hours will be spent participating in online discussions/reviewing learning material. All are designed to help teachers focus on an innovative practice from start to finish. All 6-hours will be completed over an 8-week time.
